Hanging Art
Hanging your art
A few of my tips when displaying your art
Tip 1 - Height
My number 1 tip when hanging your art is…Don’t hang it to high!!
It’s a common mistake many people make. By hanging your art to high on the wall there is a disconnect
with the piece, and the rest of the elements in your space don’t quite come together as they should.
Having your art placed lower on your wall, more at eye level will bring you more enjoyment with the piece and bring the room together with a more completed feel.
Tip 2 – Lean and Layer
If you’re not quite ready to hang your art piece, you can try a recent and popular interior style I call the “lean and layer” look. This is where your piece is not hanging or attached to a wall, but leaning against the wall. This can be created by placing your art on a mantle, shelf or side table, or by placing your art piece on the floor for a warehouse industrial look.
You can overlap a few artworks for a layered look, and change them up easily for a fresh new look.
Tip 3 – Gallery Wall
If you have a large wall to fill, I would suggest going for a larger artwork to fill up the space, or hang 2 or 3 pieces of art side by side to fill that blank space and make a statement. You can also go for a gallery look by hanging a variety of art pieces in different sizes to fill a large blank wall.
Tip 4 - Quote
